  The measurements, before the adjectives

  48 by 32 by 19 centimetres, and 480 grams empty. Two numbers that say more about a day pack than any paragraph. The body is 19 cm deep, so a rolled fleece sits beside a lunch box rather than on top of it, and the pack adds under half a kilo to whatever you carry.

  What the harness is, and is not

  Padded shoulder straps, an adjustable chest strap and a ventilated back system, so air moves behind the panel on a climb instead of sitting flat against your shirt. No padded hip belt, which means the load stays on your shoulders and day weight is the sensible limit. The Oxford shell holds off rain, though a liner is what protects a down layer.
