  Three litres is the vest, not the water

  That 3 L describes the whole vest. Put a 1.5 L bladder in the sleeve and most of the volume is spoken for, which leaves the pockets for a phone, gels and a thin layer. Right size for an hour or two at pace, or a longer route where you know the taps.

  Setting up the harness

  Shoulder strap length and the sternum buckle both move, so the harness can be pulled in on a narrow chest or let out over a jacket. The hose passes through a hook-and-loop loop on the top handle and fixes to the chest strap, out of your face.
