  What the MOLLE rows really do

  The front webbing takes pouches of your choosing, so the layout follows the trip. Anything strapped on the front sits further from your spine and pulls backwards, so keep dense items inside against the panel and the outer rows for bulk.

  One kilo, and how it sits

  At 1 kg empty for 32 litres, this is a day size, not a heavy load carrier. The back is mesh over moulded foam, not a frame held clear of you: better than plain padding, but it sits against your shirt. The padded hip belt takes part of the weight. Coated nylon sheds rain, zips do not, so line the bag.
