  • Old-school pitch: No pop-up mechanism here. Standard pole assembly, and once it is up it does not shift.
  • A groundsheet that holds: 120g PE base rated 2000 mm. Damp does not come up into the sleeping area.
  • Poles with backbone: Aluminium alloy, not soft plastic. They hold their shape in gusts and in a bad-tempered pitch.
  • Bivvy format: 4.2 kg of well-judged kit, with a 110 cm porch for the bergen and your boots.

  3 man tent: waterproofing that copes with long British rain

  Rain during a camp often settles in for days. Use the wrong tent and water works its way in until your kit is soaked. Our 3 man tent uses an outer layer (190T taffeta) that gives UV protection and serious waterproofing (2000-3000mm). Its floor (polyethylene) is rated for ground-level waterproofing (2000mm), so even where water pools it does not come up through the base. At ((2 compartments: 110+215)x183x130cm) across 2 compartments, it sleeps 2 or 3. Two adults with kit have real room; three is a tight pitch, and we would rather say so now than after you have paid.
