  Five centimetres and 547 g

  Five centimetres of honeycomb air is enough to keep your back off the stones without turning into a load. Rolled down to 23x10x10 cm, it takes the space of a water bottle in a rucksack. The three-layer build puts 40D nylon and a TPU coating outside and a double polyurethane layer inside, which slows the cold coming up from the ground.

  How it inflates

  You inflate this one by mouth, 10 to 15 breaths through the non-return valve, which holds the air between breaths so you are not fighting it back. No pump is supplied, though any small camping pump will do the job faster. Being an air mat, it can be punctured, so clear twigs and stones before you lie down.
