  Pitches anywhere, no trees needed

  Most hammocks live or die by whether two trees stand the right distance apart. This one carries its own aluminium frame, so it stands on its own on open ground, a beach, a car park or a bare hillside where nothing else would take an anchor. The overhead tarp covers you from above against rain and sun, the frame holds a rated 200kg, and the whole kit packs down to 1.25kg. It comes in Green, Orange, Black or Camouflage.

  Warm back, honest setup

  Because you hang clear of the floor, the air moves underneath you and pulls heat from your back, more than the ground ever would. That surprises people on their first cold night. The fix is simple: put a sleeping mat between you and the fabric, or sling an underquilt beneath. This shelter has no built-in insect net, so pack a head net or a separate mesh if you are out in midge season. Stand the frame once at home to learn the poles, and it goes up quickly after that.
