  Foam, so there is nothing to burst

  There is no bladder, no seam and no valve on this one. Two centimetres of IXPE closed-cell foam sit under you, with an aluminium film on the back to push warmth upwards, and the textured surface wipes clean when it comes out of the mud. Stones and twigs dent it rather than end your night.

  Nothing to inflate

  Set-up is the whole point here. The accordion panels open in about three seconds, with no pump, no inflation sack and no breath involved. Six connected panels mean you can leave one or two folded when the tent floor is short. It packs to 60 by 16 by 13 cm and 380 g, and it never needs topping up in the night.
