  Where the 200 kg goes

  Two adults sitting out an evening is what a double hammock does best, and 200 kg covers that with margin. For sleeping, be realistic: two bodies in one hammock roll towards the middle, so one ends up higher than the other. The room really pays off when one person uses it, because you can lie right across the fabric at an angle instead of along the centre line. That diagonal is what flattens the surface, opens your shoulders and gets rid of the ridge under your spine.

  Seams, straps and what to add

  The seams are triple stitched, which is where a loaded hammock fails first, and the polyester straps do not stretch, so the height you set is the height you wake up at. Underneath is still cold, because your sleeping bag is crushed flat, so use a mat or an underquilt. For rain, hang a tarp.
