  What the suspension actually is

  Thick nylon rope and stainless steel hooks, not flat webbing. Rope puts the whole load on a narrow line of bark, so slip a strip of webbing or a folded mat underneath it on living trees. On posts, beams and a frame the hooks go straight on.

  140 cm across, and how to use it

  Lying flat along the centre line presses the sides into your shoulders and lifts a ridge under your spine. Angle yourself corner to corner across the 270 cm and the fabric drops level. Underneath you it insulates nothing, so a mat or underquilt handles the cold.
