  Ride through a British autumn and you need waterproof cover on your legs. Without it, the cold that comes with the rain does the damage. Our cycling waterproof overtrousers use a polyester pongee fabric with the edges sealed with PVC (polyvinyl chloride) glue. That givesa light weight (300 g) anda strong waterproof rating (9000 mm) in heavy rain. The elastic waist with drawcord and the moderately roomy cut keep them comfortable, and the velcro hem closure shuts the water out at the ankle in the worst of it.
