  Room for your shoulders

  Width is what decides whether you wake up aching. With 140 cm across, you can lie corner to corner rather than straight down the centre, and that angle is what flattens the fabric behind your shoulders. Two can share it; on your own there is enough spare fabric to wrap over you.

  What the 520 g leaves out

  Insulation. Beneath your body the sleeping bag compresses and stops holding heat, so a mat inside or an underquilt below is what keeps your back warm. Neither is included, and nor is a tarp, which you will want overhead in British weather.
