  Two mats, one bed

  Press studs run along both edges, so a second mat clips alongside this one and the pair stop drifting apart in the night. On its own it measures 192x58x5 cm, enough for one adult, and the welded honeycomb keeps the surface even instead of bulging in the middle. At 510 g it is a light thing to carry.

  How it inflates

  The pump is built in and worked by hand, around 30 seconds of pressing, short enough to do by head torch without waking anyone. No external pump is needed. Five centimetres of air is comfortable and easy to puncture in equal measure, so kick the stones and twigs off the pitch, or slide a thin foam mat underneath.
