    • 50 to 75 g empty: the sack weighs less than a pair of socks, so it stays in the daysack all winter without a second thought.
    • Unlined waterproof polyester: single layer, nothing inside to hold damp, and it packs into a jacket pocket when it is not in use.
    • Roll-top with a buckle handle: roll the top three times, clip it, then carry the bag by that same buckle.
    • 50 to 75 g on the scales: light enough to live in a bergen lid or a jacket pocket until the sky turns.
    • Shoulder strap available: a separate black strap at 100 g turns the 20 L into a carry bag once you are off the water.

The Black Drybag: An Ultralight Sack That Lines Any Pack You Own

Rain here is not an event, it is a season, and the kit worth sealing is small: a phone, dry socks, a down layer, the car keys. The black drybag weighs 50 to 75 g empty, so it lives at the bottom of a daysack from October onwards and you never notice the penalty. Unlined waterproof polyester means there is nothing in the construction to hold damp, and the empty sack folds into a jacket pocket. Flat sizes run 33 x 9 cm at 5 L, 34 x 8.5 cm at 10 L and 44 x 8 cm at 20 L, measurements worth checking against your bergen before you commit. The closure is three folds and a clip, which is all you can manage with cold hands on a Peak District ridge. Black keeps it discreet inside a patrol pack, on a cadet weekend or on a wet festival campsite.
