  Three shelters in one kit

  Most nights you want it slung between two trees as a hammock, off the wet floor and away from the insects behind the high-density mesh. When there are no trees, the 7075 aluminium poles let you set it up as a ground tent instead, and the anti-tip design keeps it steady rather than rolling you out. The 270 by 140 cm interior gives you space to move, and the 200 kg rating covers an adult with a load of kit. Green, Orange and Gray suit woodland or open ground.

  When you hang it, insulate below

  In hammock mode there is one thing worth knowing up front. You lose heat through your back, because your weight presses the insulation flat underneath you, so a hammock feels colder than the ground on a chilly night. Slide a sleeping mat inside, or rig an underquilt below, and the cold stops being a problem. On the ground in tent mode this does not apply. Either way, run through the setup once at home so the poles and net are second nature before you rely on it.
