  Waterproof, and here is why

  The closure and the seams are the whole story. Rolling the top and clipping it at the sides leaves no zip line at the opening, and the seams are welded instead of stitched, so no needle holes run through the PVC canvas. A coated pack that shuts with a zip cannot say the same, whatever the coating on the fabric.

  What it holds

  35 litres covers one to two days: a change of clothes, food, a compact sleeping bag or camera kit. Keep the heavy items high and near your spine, set the waist strap on top of your hips, and clip the chest strap so the shoulder straps stop sliding outwards under a full load.
