  The frame and the numbers

  This is a folding camp bed built on an iron frame, rated by the maker to a 200 kg maximum load. The sleeping surface runs a full 190 cm, so taller sleepers get head-to-toe support rather than hanging off the end. The Oxford cloth top is stretched across the frame to keep you flat and off the cold, damp ground. Check the 200 kg figure and the 190 cm length against your own weight and height before you order, so there are no surprises in the field.

  Setup and packing

  The frame folds out from a packed-flat position, so you can set it up without tools and stow it again when you break camp. Folded down it slides into a vehicle boot, a storage locker or a bergen.
