A down and cotton blend, not pure down

This bag pairs duck down with a cotton layer rather than running on down alone. The down carries the warmth-to-weight, while the cotton adds body and comfort. Read the comfort figure as your planning temperature for each weight and keep the limit and extreme columns for the edges of what the bag can do. Ratings in this category tend to run optimistic, so on cold nights sleep on a proper mat and add a liner for the last few degrees.

Choosing your weight and zip

The three builds shift the balance of down and cotton, so pick the weight against the coldest night you expect rather than the mildest. The down portion still needs to stay reasonably dry to hold its loft, so air the bag after damp nights and store it loose. The left or right zip option lets you join two bags into one, which is worth thinking about at the point of order if you camp as a pair.
