  A day pack you can measure

  Thirty litres at 50 x 29 x 19 cm is a real day size, not a school bag with an outdoor label. A rain jacket, lunch, a flask and a fleece go in with room to spare. The 620 g empty weight sits mid-range, and the gap between that and a 300 g bag is padding you are about to feel on your back.

  The mesh foam back panel is the useful part. Foam blocks hold the pack a little off your shirt so air moves where most packs sit flat and sweat builds. Against that, the tube port is a hole with no cover described, and the shell resists rain rather than sealing it out. Bag your spare layer and let the rest get wet.
